About

What

  • anewdayswork.com is a year-long project to promote works by today’s new media and electronic artists. Every business day of 2011, we will share a piece of contemporary digital art, with an image or video, and a short description. We welcome your comments and encourage you to share these new works of art with your friends and networks via twitter, facebook, etc.
  • With anewdayswork.com, we are sharing and exploring a new frontier: Indigital Art. Art that is inherently indigenous to digital culture, and infused with digital native techniques, medias, and philosophies. Something we can all relate to, in a world that becomes more digital everyday.

Why

  • We believe that contemporary digital art does not get the attention it deserves. And we’d like to change that by providing electronic art in convenient daily doses. You already fret away hours each day checking news sites, your email, and social network buzz :: why not spend some of those minutes thinking about some contemporary art?

Who

  • Electronic artists are everywhere. And with the internet, open source software, cheap computers, and ubiquitous computing, virtually anyone can be a digital artist. We, the editors-curators, are Zachary McCune (in the UK) and Colleen Brogan (in the US), two students of digital culture in all its permutations. You, our reader-visitor, can become a guest curator by emailing us. We have 52 weeks to complete our project. Will you help?
